Inner Critic

Our own self-judgment is probably the largest barrier to personal development. We learn to practice self-judgment from our parents and the culture we live in at an early age. Here are the best resources I've found to date on liberating yourself from self-judgment.

cover "Soul Without Shame: A Guide to Liberating Yourself from the Judge Within"
by Byron Brown

The best and most comprehensive companion for understanding and developing a new relationship with your inner critic. Brown's approach is founded on the Diamond Approach by A.H. Almaas.

cover "Taming Your Gremlin: A Guide to Enjoying Yourself"
by Richard Carson

The more concise coverage of how to work with your gremlin - your inner critic.

cover "There Is Nothing Wrong With You: Regardless of What You Were Taught to Believe"
by Cheri Huber

Huber has a simple and profound Zen style that helps to relax your self-criticism.

cover "The Essential Enneagram: The Definitive Personality Test and Self-Discovery Guide"
by David Daniels and Virginia Price

This is the best introduction to the enneagram I've found. It includes a short ennea-type test that works well.

cover "The Wisdom of the Enneagram: The Complete Guide to Psychological and Spiritual Growth for the Nine Personality Types"
by Don Riso and Russ Hudson

One of the most complete books on the enneagram. A treasure trove of information on self-transformation. Recommended for all coaches.

cover "Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life"
by Katie Byron
