Leading
to Excellence Workshop
One
of the toughest jobs of any leader is leading change.
Anyone who has tried to lead change in an organization quickly comes to
the realization that it requires more than having the authority to tell
people what to do and how to do it. Great
leaders understand how people change and are equally skilled in leading
change within individuals and groups.
Leading to Excellence is a four-day workshop that expands and improves
participant's success in leading change.
Coaching is a powerful and effective way of leading change that is based
in an understanding of how people change. Participants will learn how
to effectively lead change through the combination of individual and group
coaching.
The workshop
is based on Coaching to Excellence and customized
and expanded for leading change in groups as well as individuals.
What happens in the workshop?
As a participant in this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of
leading change through individual and group coaching. Learning is facilitated
through a blend of lecture, discussion, and practice. You will practice
coaching other participants and expand your learning edge as a leader
and coach. You will also play the role of follower/client and receive
coaching from other participants on actual leadership problems from your
own experience. You will learn about the ten ways of leading and organizing
and use them to deepen your understanding of a change you intend to lead.
Then you will plan the change using all you have learned about leading
change in individuals and groups and leave with actions you can take the
very next day to catalyze the change.
On
the last day of the course, we deepen your learning by focusing on the
your way of being as a change leader.
There will be overnight homework assignments on the first, second, and
third days of the workshop. The assignments will take about thirty to
sixty minutes to complete and are integral to the exercises the next day.
Please plan to have time available to complete these assignments.
Workshop enrollment is limited to 18 participants.
What results can participants expect from completing this workshop?
Upon completing this workshop,
- you will be a more competent and effective leader,
- you will be more skillful in fostering mutual respect and trust
with the people you lead,
